The Dance Floors

We will have two rooms during the parties.

The Hall:

This is our main room. Here, our DJs will take you on dynamic, intricate journeys exploring the full range of music we can micro to.

The Workshop:

This is our cosy chill out space. This is where the cuddle corner happens. In here we will play dreamy, gooey, “late-night micro classics” all night*.

(*Except for when we turn it into a dark room!)

Dress-up themes

Each night, you are invited to join us for a suggested dress up theme. Participation is completely optional. You are always free to wear whatever you like, so long as it covers your nipples and genitals.

THE THEMES

Friday: Pajama Party

Let’s get cosy! Everyone’s usually a little tired on Friday night, let’s take it chill and ease into the party together*. You have options here. Wear your favourite onesie, come in your sleekest silk PJ set, throw a robe over your regular clothes. If you’re not a pyjama person, you can wear whatever “comfy clothes” means to you. (You can, as always, wear whatever you want so long as it covers your bits.) Remember that it can get pretty warm dancing in your fuzzy PJs, so you might want to bring some layers.

*Don’t worry, we won’t play sleepy music all night!

Saturday: Sparkles!

How could we resist? It’s time to sparkle and shine! Sequins, glitter, bling and shiny things – wear whatever brings out your inner sparkle. Whether you prefer a subtle shimmer or a dazzling shine, tonight the invitation is to feel fabulous.
We will have a Sparkle Station with glitter, temporary tattoos, and donated clothes available for everyone to wear and share.

Be mindful this is this a micro party and unfortunately some glittery clothes do not feel so great to the touch! Your challenge, should you choose to accept it, is to sparkle with softness.

Sensory Sunday

Silk, satin, velvet, cashmere … do you have that one thing that whenever you wear it other dancers go: “oooooh this feels so nice!” Wear that! Tonight’s party will be all about engaging our senses. The invitation is to wear clothes that you experience as feeling pleasant to touch. (This will of course be different for different people, that’s okay.)

Party games

We will have some different party and dance games available throughout the venue. Again, participation is completely optional. Remember that games are not everyone’s cup of tea! If you invite your partner to join you for one and it’s not their thing, please warmly thank them for sharing their preference.

On Friday, the theme will be ice-breakers, Saturday focuses on connection, and Sunday is all about the senses.

Lead, Follow or Switch?

We will have glowsticks in different colours available for everyone who would like to indicate their role preference.

You are free to change your preference whenever you like! Though please reuse your glowsticks if you’re changing between them a lot.

If someone is not wearing a glowstick, you can either:

  • Ask them which role they prefer

  • Tell them your role preference and ask if they would like to dance the other

Saturday Night Dark Room

For 90 minutes on Saturday night we will turn the workshop into a Dark Room. You are invited to share the sensory experience of dancing in almost-total darkness.

What is the dark room for?

The dark room is a sensory dance experience. The code of conduct still fully applies here. There is no sexual contact allowed on the dance floor.

Some important info:

  • The dark room will last for 90 minutes total, from 23:30 – 01:00. Every 30 minutes, we will take a short break to open the doors and allow people to leave and enter.

  • Outside of these times, we will ask you to minimise leaving the room as much as possible so as not to let the light in. You can of course always leave if you need to! Please don’t feel trapped.

  • You can only enter the dark room at these times: 23:30, 00:00, 00:30. Please wait for someone from the organising team to open the door.

  • A route to the exit will be marked with glow in the dark tape.

  • Please wear one of the glowsticks indicating your role preference.

  • Whenever you are ready for a new partner, raise your hand above your head. Try to find someone else doing the same.

  • Walk slowly to avoid collisions!

  • We very strictly only allow micro dancing in the dark room. If you move your feet, do so at a slow pace.

  • There is no talking allowed in the dark room.

  • If at any point you feel that someone crosses your boundaries, please speak with a member of the Care Team.

Sunday Night Blindfolds

As part of Sensory Sunday, we will have blindfolds available to wear while dancing. Taking away one of our senses can create a delightful experience of micro dancing.

You are welcome to wear a blindfold at any point this evening.

If you dance with a blindfolded person, please ask them at the end if they would like you to find them their next partner. If yes, make sure they have someone new to dance with before you leave them.

To avoid a room full of blindfolded people, there will be enough for around half the room to use them at once. We may make an announcement and ask people to let others have a turn if necessary.

Dress Code*

  • Due to the close contact of micro dancing, please wear clothing that is comfortable for you and your dance partners (no large belt buckles, no raised necklaces, no brooches/badges etc).

  • Flat shoes are recommended

  • Genitals and nipples must remain covered.

  • Sparkles, soft touch materials, and colour are all strongly encouraged!

*This dress code is mostly copied directly from MMFX.
